Application menus

Is there a setting that prevents applications from showing their main menu in Garuda?

Sometimes one can right click on the title bar and get an option to show the menu, but I think that is the application, not the OS.

The menu for konsole seems to be in the panel at the top, not in the window. How did I manage to do that?

Will it work for other apps, like librecad?

Old and confused

Or you may want to remove the “Global menu” widget.
That should put the menu’s back into the windows.

I searched for application menu, no menu showing , can’t access application menu and found very little. If it was explained more than one time, not using those search terms. Searching for kwinrc did not show any results with main menu in them.

My problem was not min max and close buttons disappeared.

I tried setting BorderlessMaximizedWindows=false, and rebooted. No success.

Don’t have the Global Menu widget on my panel. I actually remove quite a few widgets since they are just clutter.

My problem is mainly with LibreCad having no main menu. I will un and re install it and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip, though

Try to describe it differently, we don’t know exactly what you want and have only made assumptions.

Search in

Forums etc. it is not a Garuda problem

looks like the arch extra is broken in that regard just grab the flatpak of it for now it works with the menu as intended.

Maybe the aur git version works but I didn’t build or test that one.
Inkscape often has menu issues like this as well though its gtk.

Thanks for that tip. Solved my problem.

I am going to assume there is not a switch somewhere that turns off application menus, which answers my original question. Sorry if the question was too vague, it sure was clear to me.
