AMD Ryzen CPU performance improvements for Linux?

In the upcoming 24H2 update for Windows, Zen 4 and Zen 5 (and to some extend, Zen 3) will receive a performance boost (at least in games, 0-36% more performance, 13% on average)

Will AMD also release some kind of a patch for Linux to boost performance on Ryzen CPUs? Or is it already optimized?

I can’t even fathom 36% more performance. I already think my computer is basically instantaneous on most everything I do. That would be awesome.

This basically doesn’t have anything to do with Linux.
If I remember correctly, people like Wendell from Level1Techs ran tests on new Ryzens on Windows and Linux. And found out that games ran better on Linux side.

So, I would say there isn’t the same kind of upgrade/update coming to Linux.

Don’t really know anything so deep from Kernels and such (Windows or Linux).

But I think that the wise ones think, it has something to do with OS Scheduler bug on Windows, regarding AMD CPUs…

Here is the video @MSuomi mentioned (starting when he starts talking about Linux):

Aw.
I wish we could get more ports instead of running games through Wine. That gain in SOTTR is mind blowing.

As long as 90%+ of people will run Windows on PC, and Xbox exists, there will be just a handful indie games running natively on Linux. But who knows, lord Gaben might pull another ace up from his sleeve.

I must say, though, gaming on Linux is now working very well, compared to the past.
