So i recently switched from my NVidia Card to AMD and i believe i have set up everything correctly. But my screens are a little bit flickering. It’s like dropping the brightness by 2-3% per second for like 5 seconds at a time then it stops for a couple of minutes.

Also i get a black frame every now and then. Not while gaming, only on the desktop.

Had anyone comparable issues?

I’m not sure what to do with the information but “nvidia_drm.modeset=1 ibt=off” is in your logs, maybe it has something to do with that.

Oh that could be something, yeah… tbh i have no idea how to set or remove kernel parameters. Gotta look that up now

i don’t have the path of /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset anymore like it’s said in 1.3 NVIDIA - ArchWiki

And in my /etc/modprobe.d i had a .conf for NVidia still and i deleted it and rebooted. But inxi still shows that kernel parameter

Alright, used garuda-boot-options to delete that part. Now it’s gone from garuda-inxi aswell.

I observe if this helped. Thanks for the pointer!

I hope this doesn’t happen to me when I upgrade. I have a nvidia card too (RTX 3070) and I bought an AMD 7900 XTX to switch when I upgrade. I haven’t updated in two days or so though because I’m waiting for a new ISO which hasn’t materialized yet. (Yes I am aware the Garuda team made a script to seamlessly upgrade to the KDE Mega release 6, which is cool, but I am not interested in doing that. I always do a clean install with big upgrade likes this. And besides, this is not my only reason for wanting to do a clean install, I have other reasons too.)
