AMD Radeon RX 9070 Freezes

Myself have done also these steps…but result = dri card 1 and not default dri card 0.
Mostly make this no troubble, but…perhaps this entry in the kernel boot option solve your issue.
Don’t forget to test these option:
amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xfffd3fff (my mind you need this entry)

as info for you:

You use current 89,1% space (sda). You run out of space if you don’t take attention on this.
Btrfs + snapshot need space…less then 10% on free space ..you run in trouble.

You have a extra swap partition on this drive. I know, never ending story..
i need or i need not.

Interesting,

When I was switching from 3080 to 9070XT, all I had to do is uninstall NVIDIA drivers. Slapped in new card, installed MESA and called it a day. Nothing else was needed. But who knows…

Also in regards of the layers, I have them since fresh install Mokka and they never did any issues so far.

Try using X11 instead of Wayland. I’m on an all AMD system (5800x3D & 7900XT) and I get freezes all the time when using Wayland. I’m 100% stable on X11.

Hi

Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 21.1.18 with: Xwayland v: 24.1.8 driver: X:

There is x11 and Xwayland. How do I stick to x11?

I had now one short freeze. So I would try this next. I thought I have x11, because I don’t use the wayland variante
