Hello, after last linux-firmware and kernel upgrades I have situation that after Grub menu system stops with that info like on screenshot:

Try early loading the module like suggested in this thread: https://reddit.garudalinux.org/r/archlinux/comments/114sgtv/arch_linux_triggering_uevents_amdgpu_secure

Add a config file to /etc/dracut.conf.d with add_drivers+=" amdgpu " in it:

echo 'add_drivers+=" amdgpu "' | sudo tee /etc/dracut.conf.d/amdgpu.conf

Regenerate the initrds:

sudo dracut-rebuild

Reboot and test again.

If that doesn’t help, try switching to the LTS kernel and see if you have the same issue. If the LTS kernel is fine, it may just be a matter of waiting for the issue to be resolved with a kernel update.

Hi, thanks for answer. If folder dracut_conf.d don’t exist? Create or search different folder?

With an underscore like that, it should not exist. The directory you want is /etc/dracut.conf.d. It should already exist and have at least one file in it.

Looks like they are using mkinitcpio instead from an older installation. That would probably explain things as the install date is before the Raptor release in 2023.

I don’t have it:

cd /etc/dracut.conf.d
bash: cd: /etc/dracut.conf.d: Nie ma takiego pliku ani katalogu

Nice one @Kayo, good eye. That’s right, if mkinitcpio is in use instead of dracut, add the module to /etc/mkinitcpio.conf instead.

[...]
MODULES=(amdgpu)
[...]

Then rebuild the initrds with mkinitcpio.

sudo mkinitcpio -P

Thanks but I have that way:

have to change something? Remove other and leave only amdgpu?

You can remove the unneeded modules if you want to but I don’t think it will resolve the issue.

Try switching to the LTS kernel to see if it has the same issue or not.

Hi, I’m on LTS kernel. I try Zen but don’t have wifi then.
Regards.

That is one of Realtek’s most problematic adapters.

Search the “Networking Support” sub-forum and you will find what can be done to improve performance with the RTL8822CE adapter.

Thank You, I will try that.

After some updates last days my laptop now boot OK. Don’t see that AMD problems.
Regards.
