After update gnome the online accounts not working anymore

Hey Guys, i'm hope you doing well!

I have some strange issues on the preference panel on my garuda gnome:

I have add 2 google accounts, in the left side on the file panel i cannot connect anymore with my google drive: when i click on, it show an alert say "the user or password is wrong" it seems strange cuz i don't have change any password. So i have check on the preference panel, in the online account section, and i cannod add or remove any account.

There is something i can do? There is some other way to delete and add an account?

Thanks!

In your settings there should be a section for online accounts where you can update your credentials.

Yes there is the section, but don't working, don't show any error, it just doing nothing on click

My advice is to change those credentials so they contain your current account password.

Wait, why can’t you do this?

The panel of accounts seems not responding on click, it simple doing nothing

Here you can see what i say, i'm clic on account but nothing happening..

I wonder if this has anything to do with Gnome coming up to 42.

Can you post your garuda-inxi?

Bad news, I'm afraid:

It looks like a workaround is loading a Wayland session.

Gnome 42 is still very new, so there are bound to be a few odd bugs that crop up for a few more weeks.

i was afraid it was a bug of new gnome update, and it is.. I think i can only wait for a bugfix :frowning:

You can log in with a Wayland session to make the edits you need to your online accounts and get everything working, then log back out and log in with X--that might work.

No need to be afraid of Wayland, since you are not on Nvidia hardware--you might even like it!

Uhm i will try! Thanks for tips!

Unless something has changed and I didn’t notice,

Garuda GNOME does not support this out of the box. All the packages are there, and there is an option in the Garuda Assistant, but I would recommend just editing the file /etc/gdm/custom.conf and changing the line WaylandEnable=false to #WaylandEnable=false.

Right now, the Assistant option “GDM Wayland” calls a script that also adds some global settings that can have unintended consequences for some apps if you want to go back to X11.

If you’ve already used the Assistant option and it’s allowed you to use Wayland and not causing any problems, you probably don’t need to do anything, but if you have any problems with Qt-based apps (like the various Garuda tools) you may want to uncheck the setting and apply via the Assistant and just make the edit I supplied.

(also, if you already had the option to use Wayland, or started seeing the option after GNOME 42 without making any changes, please let me know!)

And yeah, as noted:

I’ve looked into this rather heavily and may post some info on the forum in the coming days!
