After fresh install and reboot sway changed completely

Hi,
I couldn't find any topic about this, so I'm sorry if I've created this thread and there is one already.

I did a fresh install of garuda sway and after reboot it changed to different layout with blue sway wallpaper and none of the keyboard shortcuts work. I can't launch terminal, just switching between workspaces and resize shortcut work.

I've reinstalled the os three times and even downloaded iso again but I am stuck there...

Please post garuda-inxi from terminal, maybe from garuda-assistant.

Did you set the time and locale settings in live ISO before you boot to login page (IDK if there exist one  ) or the desktop?
Can you open a terminal and use

localectl

to see your language settings?

I can't open terminal. I've tried Czech language setting and when it happened I did a new fresh install with US language. It doesn't matter.

I could try install it again and post the output after that. But I will do it tomorrow.

Ok, I couldn't resist, so here is output.

Now, I can do anything, but I am not sure that if reboot, there could be changed everything again like look of the bar and wallpaper. And shortcuts not working...

I do not know if there is the problem, can you use cz as keymap?

And what exactly change?
Wallpapers change some time, maybe you saw an old style in web/YT… ?

Edit
Try https://iso.builds.garudalinux.org/iso/garuda/sway/230820/

Can you post your garuda-inxi please?

This sounds like an issue with /home. Do you have an unconventional setup with /home?

The default garuda sway look was totally gone. There was just bar with numbers of "activities" on the left side and date on the right. The wallpaper changed to blue screen with title sway in the center plus a tree. And shortcuts were not working.
The only thing I changed was putting /etc/sway/config to ~/.config/sway/config to be able to change settings but I didn't change a thing.

Bingo, this would have overwritten the existing config. Without that, no shortcuts will be set up, no wallpaper (that blue one is the Sway "default), basically everything will be back to stock Sway.

This is a fully configured Sway already, so no need to do that step–~/.config/sway/config already exists. Instead, edit the config to make the changes you wish.

Thank you very much, my bad.
I've read somewhere on forum that this should be made and was stupidly following that. It was probably outdated or something... Bud I could check if it's ok
Have a nice day

Actually, that is exactly what you should do if you are installing Sway from scratch--for example, if you are setting up an Arch installation. In the case of Garuda Linux, a lot of configuration has already been done.

I'm glad we could help crack the case. :man_detective: Welcome to the community @Saumalek. :slightly_smiling_face:
