I am a native Scot who found Garuda Linux (and overall Linux Gaming support) so good a year ago it finally got me permanently away from Windows! Despite this being my fourth attempt in the last couple of decades to break across to Linux I still consider myself a Linux novice though I have learned quite a bit over the years. Using this rolling Arch-based distro for a year I’m quite proud of the fact I’ve not had to ask for forum assistance; it seems my many years of troubleshooting Winblows has given me enough generalised skill to problem solve in this environment so I guess I should be a little grateful to it for that at least.
Most recently the update to KDE 6.0 and especially Wayland has given me lots to fix and to learn. Nothing major, thankfully, but I do still have some apps misbehaving (Including a weird Spectacle seg-fault) when according to internet research they technically shouldn’t. Being an Nvidia user I’m pinning some hopes on the upcoming Explicit Sync capability bringing my experience to parity with the venerable but visibly slower X11. C’mon, Nvidia, it’s now ready in the X.org server and coming to KDE Plasma in June; let’s have those new ES-ready Drivers!
Other than all that, I’m a friendy soul with strong opinions, a deep abiding hatred for anyone seeking to cause harm to others, a love of tech and gaming, an incurable sci-fi addiction, an irreverent sense of humour and an often bone-dry wit. See you out there, Penginauts. o7.
