Windows User - USB Failing to Boot

Greetings, I am a windows user who is looking to quit windows and come over to Garuda Linux.

I created a USB Boot disc with BalenaEtcher and flashed the following ISO to it.
garuda-dr460nized-gaming-linux-zen-250308

I go into BIOS and disabled Fast Boot and Secure Boot as per the instructions, change the Boot Order to my USB, hit F10 to save and exit and then reboot my Asus Laptop.

This is where I hit an issue. The laptop boots up but there is only a Black Screen. There appears to be no further action despite me waiting 20 mins. It just hangs there.

I have searched the forums but could not find anything to help me. I only use the laptop screen and not an additional monitor.

I am forced to hold down the power key to turn off the laptop and reverse what I had done before to boot into windows.

I am not sure what to try next as I really want to ditch windows and come across to Garuda.
Any help would be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Try ventoy (Ventoy) to create the usb stick and then boot the iso in grub2 mode.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I am unable to get Garuda to even install and have no idea how I would even boot the iso in grub2 mode.

I am literally a total newbie regarding any of this but am up for learning if someone could take me through it step by step?

Thanks

Download the Ventoy installation package for windows, like ventoy-x.x.xx-windows.zip and decompress it.
Run Ventoy2Disk.exe , select the usb stick and click the Install button.

Then you only need to copy the iso to the usb stick (simple copy and paste), restart the laptop and boot the usb stick (disable Secure Boot/Fastboot in the BIOS again and enable AHCI for SATA devices). Ventoy will then show you a boot menu where you select Grub2 and then the iso you want to boot.

Thank you both for the help. My old laptop is now installing Garuda for me to try out before I convert my gaming laptop.

Your help is outstanding.
