Wifi option not visible

yesterday i dual booted garuda with windows, today when i turned on my laptop i am not able to connect to my wifi,
i get the follow error message
file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.networkmanagement/contents/ui/main.qml:10:1: plugin cannot be loaded for module "org.kde.plasma.networkmanagement": Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/plasma/networkmanagement/libplasmanm_qmlplugins.so: (libKF5Wallet.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

does it do it when you shutdown garuda and then restart garuda

I turned on my pc for the first time today and it happened i then restarted and the same issue was there

Did wifi work on first install?
Have you updated garuda with

garuda-update

as you are dual booting make sure fast boot is disabled in the bios and in windows>

Yes it worked yesterday whole day, i tried garuda-install but even that gave few signature errors with some email id listed so it wasnt complete

First thing is to rule out a potential problem with dual booting Windows: make sure that "fast boot" is disabled in the "BIOS", that is, the motherboard configuration screen accessed by pressing a key while booting (usually F2 but could be something else on yours).
Windows has this weird ability to "own" hardware across reboots, better disable it.

That said, I also have this problem and I don't dual boot, so it may well be something else.

I'm usually connected by ethernet to the modem/router, yesterday I had a network problem and while fumbling around I noticed that Wifi disappeared from network-manager.
A few reboots later it came back, and now isn't there anymore.
I've been quick to blame the ISP but maybe this time it wasn't their fault after all.

Note, I'm not on KDE but Sway, so I can't check that error message here.

@navneet:

This is currently provided by extra/kwallet 5.102.0-1

  • Can you post garuda-inxi
  • Can you post the result of pacman -Qi kwallet

That’s very relevant to solving this. If the update didn’t complete, let’s get it fixed for everyone. What is the full text of the error?

@meanruse:

This is symptomatic of a longstanding powersave bug. The solution varies slightly based on the driver used, but the general fix is usually like this: wireless - No wifi adapter found! Dual boot windows 10 and Ubuntu 17.10 - Ask Ubuntu

The thing is, I don't dual boot.
There's no trace left of Windows on my laptop, not even a NTFS partition.

thank you all

garuda-update remote fix

command worked for me, and now i have my wifi option back.
the main cause of the problem was this command

sudo pacman -Rdd kwallet

and now its resolved, though if you have any idea to disable startup prompt of kwallet please let me know

Update:

About the wifi, it disappeared again after another reboot. No dual boot involved.
I’ll try garuda-update remote fix when I have a stable internet connection.

About my internet connectivity problem,

…and I was right.
Confirmed beyond reasonable doubt, I even found a newspaper article about it.
Yet when I called those scoundrels (telecom “Italia”) they blamed it on me and tried to extort 30 euros to let me talk to a “technician”.
