When connecting headphones via aux, audio doesn't connect automatically

Hello! As the title says, application’s audio (such as firefox or steam games) won’t work when I connect my headphones with my aux cord. In fact, in order to even get the headphones working, I have to go to my settings and switch my playback device from “Speakers” to “Headphones (unplugged)”. I then have to pull up qpwgraph and connect each individual application to my ““speakers”” (my headphones in this case). Playing the test audio does work, and both my headphones and the aux work perfectly fine on other devices.

This is really tedious to do, and after some research I found something that kind of works:

The issue with this solution is that while the headphones automatically connect and work, audio also plays from the speakers…

I’ve updated the system and its packages and restarted my computer multiple times.

That’s probably key. Windows hijacks your adaptor and assigns a MAC address. You reboot into Linux, which says WTF?, and it needs to be re-acquired.

@tbg is more familiar with what you might do, I dunno.

I know it says one issue per topic, but I believe this is related. When using obs, my mic works just fine, but when i plug my headphones in, I once again have this issue. Using qpwgraph doesnt seem to be helping, either.
