Since there are rumors that the Internet Archive is in danger of going under, I decided to personally act to help preserve these important pieces of music history:

https://archive.org/details/LostGauchoRestored
https://archive.org/details/gauchoouttakes

"Lost Gaucho Restored is a project worked on by John Conquest (aka Sir Mix-A-Lot Rare Music on YouTube) that aims to restore the bad quality bootlegs from the album Gaucho by Steely Dan."

Though they are also on YouTube, the original files are now available here:
Steely Dan - Lost Gaucho Restored
Steely Dan - Gaucho Outtakes and Demos (1979-80)

Pins appreciated! :safety_pin:

[Bonus: current vibe (with an additional desktop mashing in my other favorite rock opera of all time)]:

Kind Spirit don’t go
Tell me why
The time has come to fly on by
Kind Spirit don’t go
Such as shame
The world won’t be the same
Don’t leave me here to fade without your flame

LOL! John Lee Hooker famously sang in a song, "even a bald-headed woman can show me some hair, sometime."

Absolute bangers are tracks 2, 7, 8, 10, 13 and 16. At the beginning of track 7 (One Song) does anyone know what old technology those sounds come from?

Did I ever mention how the 1990's was the golden age of electronic music? (not to be confused with the 1890s  )

Rei Harakami is one of my all time favorite musicians. Sadly he died fairly early due to a rare brain condition. He is one of those artists that is "his own genre" due to how unique his music is. It usually is very upbeat and zany, but this is his most beautiful song he ever made and unlike most of the others.

His "Unrest" album:

He also understood the power of silence (contrast to music) and long breaks.
