If you update regularly, you have the latest and greatest. They need to release new ISO every now and then so the updates to the latest are not so large.

If a person downloads an ISO that's 6 months old, there would be a lot of updates to bring it back up to date. New ISO are released time to time to keep things current. Just keep your OS up to date and your fine, you will have the latest and greatest.
