I use a 9:8 monitor, rotated on its side so that it is 8:9. However, I’d like to fit a 16:9 display, it works perfectly when doing it without rotation (on the 9:8) display, however when rotating the display instead of a horizontal bar I get a vertical bar.

  • Garuda-inxi is telling you through this sign ↻ that you should reboot the system.
    You should also only post garuda-inxi afterwards.

Your bios is out of date. Ver. 5602 is out. Please remember to use the correct BIOS settings afterwards. (uefi not csm /fastboot secure boot off /AHCI mode / resize bar enabled)

Not only hdmi.. you have a dp port, also.
Your Monitor 27,6 Zoll Ergo DualUp Monitor is a little bit special (my mind)
It’s a special format 16:18 default with native 2.560 x 2.880, (then 2x 8x9) but sorry 9:8 and default you should use 8:9. Perhaps i understand this wrong. (9:8)
You use the default native resolution and all is fine
→ switch to 16:9 with 3840x2160
That’s not native and you have this result. (rotated, pic 2)
Of course it’s works perfect without the rotation…and not if rotated.
How should this possible if 3840 ? The “metal” must set this to vertical (my mind, but perhaps i understand this totaly wrong)
I don’t have this metal..more help from my side.. sorry.. not possible
