I made an edit to the original post, sorry. I’ve been set back with some hardware issues but I’m still trying to get the mic set up and I do plan on recording it as soon as that’s sorted out, which should be soon.

Going to be away until the the 25th, so wanted to share the progress so far:
- The background is a placeholder.
- I made it a point not to reinvent the wheel, but to adapt what we had to the recent design trends set forth by the new website, start page and flagship editions.
- This is the opportunity to change the wording or order or to add more slides in case there’s something I described completely wrong or there’s another aspect I should highlight. I did some modifications on the existing slide’s wording while trying to preserve the overall meanings. The only addition I made is the slide about Firedragon.
Eager to hear the team’s feedback!

Will remove and expand more about Rani. On that note I’m wondering, is the setup assistant going to stay relevant for long? Since most if not all of the software is also in Rani?

Honestly, the Setup Assistant’s software selection screen could go eventually if @dr460nf1r3 wants to implement it in Rani instead.
The Setup Assistant itself will likely stay though, because its main purpose is to update the system on first boot, detect if NVIDIA drivers are needed and prompt to install and do anything else in the future that might need to be done after the installation. It is coded to automatically restart itself after a system update too, in case it is updated. In theory, Rani could do all those things, but the Setup Assistant is unique in the way that it is a native application, meaning any electron or GPU bugs will not affect it.

The question has come up whether it would be possible to serve a different version of the slideshow (different accent colors for the background), and possibly a different interface color for Calamares on the left, for each of the different editions. Or would that be over the top?

Complicated and probably not worth the effort. This is baked into Calamares settings, if I recall correctly.

@dr460nf1r3 ok I kind of thought that 
as we have many d,e’s with many color variations. Do you have a color palette that would fit them all.
for the main background for sddm, then each slide could represent them all.
Iv,e made some arkwork but they do not fit by color
