Use of encryption on personal pcs

Yeah that's why I got all LOUD with the unopened/unused. I can see drives that have had medical records, SIN/SS or anything else sensitive getting the grinder but the govt nukes...UNOPENED UNUSED drives too heh. So much waste that would be 100% safe for release to schools, hospitals, provincial resources. Just staggering. I mean we're here talking about should you encrypt for protection and we got organizations out here "protecting" empty drives with trash compactors hehe.

About this you are correct. However, I wrote a service to flush this data on suspend or shutdown, so that issue can be resolved without resorting to full disk encryption IMO.
