So basically I wished to unflash the USB I used for installing Garuda. So I goggle a bit and found that following command will help-
df
sudo umount /dev/sdb1
sudo mkfs.ntfs /dev/sdb1

So I did all this. I don't know whether the USB got unflashed or not but instead it's now not being detected by the system. USB is not being read and is not showing. Have I damaged something ? What's the solution to this ? It's a 16 GB Hp USB. Please help me because at present moment it's the sole USB I have and I need it for some other work.

If i was you i would have googled some more if you want it to show up as a usb drive?
Use disk manager and format the usb to exfat or fat32
