Thank you for your assistance as i have searched the web and then the forums here for a specific answer to attempt to resolve this without annoying the moderators and those here offering their time and expertise as a free service... Namaste, Light <3

live-ISO ?

Hi there, welcome.
Unfortunately Garuda ISO images do not provide persistency.
They are to be installed on bare metal, to fully enjoy the performance.

hello thank you for your prompt reply, i have been filling in information about myself requested as a little "ice-breaker" and yes this is the very first time joining this community of support... I installed this Garuda from a USB stick with the latest version provided... may i provide anymore specfific details you may require? Namaste, Love, Light <3

Even if you have installed, it looks like you're still booting from the USB.
Maybe you just have to remove it?

Are you sure you installed the distribution using the calamares installer, where you had to pick your username and such? If yes, then simply shut down Garuda Linux, remove the USB stick and then start your device again.

usb has been removed the entire duration, thank you for your reply... my issue is NOT being able to fully install after months of attempts i finally found this forum for assistance of this issue, as it does not seem to be coming from user error?

yes i filled in all the required information but upon restart/reboot it hangs at "cannot install cowspace/miso" and other info arguments i cannot remember off the top of my head.... so i have to hold down the reset button, wait for a few minutes then restart the whole process yet again which leads to the exact same results...

Anything that says MISO is already a massive big red flag indicating that you are still booting off of the USB. Please make sure the USB is unplugged, then start your device. If you can, please send an image of any error you may come across.

Still no usb stick is NOT installed in any drives the only thing is iphone7 charging from usbC which i also removed…
The output exactly reads as follows…
“OK ) Finished Permit User Sessions…
Starting Deactivate Plymouth Boot Screen…
Starting Hold until boot process finishes up…
Starting Terminate Plymouth Boot Screen…
Umount: cant unmount /dev/loop3: Invalid argument
“. “. “. /dev/loop2: “. “
“. “. “. /dev/boot1: “. “
“. “. “. /dev/boot0: “. “
“. “. “. /old run/miso/cowspace: Invalid argument
_ <—- flashing cursor

Hold down the power button until the device shuts off, then start it up again. Making sure not to insert the USB stick accidentally during that entire process :stuck_out_tongue:

To explain a little better: You are still booted into the ISO. Seems the shutdown didn't finish correctly. A force reboot should boot you into the OS.

so... i have to choose to boot from asus welcome screen by holding down delete.... otherwise it will automatically boot into Nvidia graphics driver which just immediately goes to BSOD "Black Screen of Death" unless i boot from "Proprietary graphics driver" choice...

Nope, still booted into the ISO.

Do you have an instant messaging platform (telegram?, discord?) where I can maybe help a bit more dynamically? Seems like the problem here is not an actual problem that would benefit from being public on the forum and I would like to be able to communicate a little quicker than is possible on the forum.

sure thing thank you very much as this can quickly escalate into embarrassment unless it is deemed helpful in some way so i totally understand and appreciate that additional method of assistance... i am on Twitch "LightsighTranZenDANceGtar" and discord as "Lightsightbrave<3" i am on there now waiting from ipad7, Namaste

Please join discord.gg/w5jbhq3juh then.

I don't think it even asks if you want to boot with open source or proprietary drivers unless you're booting into the USB lol. Either you're still booting into the USB or maybe you somehow screwed up and flashed the bootable ISO to your drive or something weird. Maybe just reinstall it, power off and unplug the USB then power on again.

Okay from the looks of things, @Lightsight has flashed the ISO to one of his internal SSDs instead of a USB stick. That's why they keep booting back into the ISO image.
