But even with the chaotic keys updated got the same error. Downloading the package and installing it worked but not though the normal pacman update.
as i see its different - installed is the the git version that gives the error .. https://aur.archlinux.org/protontricks-git.git
regularcoder link is different its the non git version ..
here u see both versions AUR (en) - Search Criteria: protontricks
u can change to no git version or wait till nico has fix it

Just installed protontricks-git no issues.
With yay aswell as makepkg

DId purge the existing protontricks
at me same error ... only if i use https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/snapshot/protontricks-git.tar.gz
makepkg -si
then it works ... on pacman or paru / yay it gives pgp error
Super wierd.I made and installed with yay both the stable and git version of proton. and no issues

@all: I’ll wait until @dr460nf1r3 tells us that he’d updated the package or gives another advice.
Manually install, as i advised tempest, and it worked for him so it most probably work for you.

if anyone need it now they can follow the advice of regularCoder it will work fine without problems .

sudo pacman -Syu --ignore protontricks-git

At first I had the same error, after a reboot the update ran without any problems.
still having the issue...
try
update
so it will refresh your keyrings before the update starts then it should work

You might have hit the CDN mirror of Chaotic which only syncs every 4 hours - just try again please in this case.
