Hello! Hoping someone can help me: when I am attempting to update my system via the package manager gui I am receiving the following error message in a pop-up window:

"invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature)
Failed to synchronize databases"

the update fails and the window closes out

  • Any ideas?

In terminal

upd

?, please always use the terminal and check the log.

This could be also the culprit.
If you search on the internet for deb_arch_extra you’ll find several similar errors.
This repo, which is not Garuda or Arch standard, should have been introduced by Megasync.
Remove it from your /etc/pacman.conf and give a

garuda-update

Then you might try reinstalling that package.

ok, so first, thank you! the system fully updated via the terminal using "upd". I'm assuming this is still the preferred method - but it is also the first time I have an issue updating anything via the gui... strange

The gui package manager now works fine again, also weird

However, my grub boot gui has now changed. It still works as expected, so at the end of the day its an administrative thing, but still curious why....? (sorry for the shite picture, took it on a google pixel 6, has some weird lens blurring issue...

upd

is the alias for

garuda-update

or

update

in terminal.

garuda-update is Garuda Linux's preferred update solution. The update script allows Garuda Linux to apply certain hotfixes and update automations for a smoother experience.

Please read the wiki for all details.
