Unable to update after long time

Hello,
I haven’t used my system running Garuda for quite a while (almost a year) and am now trying to update it since I will be needing it again.
However, neither running garuda-update nor using the “Garuda System Maintentance” warning to update works.

I couldn’t find any posts relating to my issue, most either had connection issues or dependency conflicts between two packages.

During the update process it also asks which “provider” to pick for some repositories, switching these changed nothing.
I tried uninstalling charset_normalizerwith pipx uninstall charset_normalizer, but it said there is nothing to uninstall for that package.
The first time I ran the update command I also got error like failed retrieving file 'python-filelock-3.13.3-1-any.pkg.tar.zst' from archlinux.mirror.server24.net : The requested URL returned error: 404, but they don’t appear anymore.

Here is the full output from the update command (it was not the first execution so the download is skipped) (full log: Garuda's PrivateBin):

garuda-update output

garuda-update -- --overwrite '*'

Quite frankly, if you haven’t updated your system for a year you should reconsider using a rolling release distro…
Sometimes even not updating for only a few weeks can be a risk, because updates occasionally require adjustments that need to be made. And if things add up, it gets complicated.
However, if the update works, we would have yet another proof of the stability of Arch, Garuda and the excellent functioning of the support tools.
Be prepared, you’ll face also this major upgrade:

There are endless discussions in the forum about it. But it should work…
Just a hint: with your Nvidia dGPU, probably you’ll have to consider using a Plasma X11 session at login instead of Wayland, which will be set as new default, and has often problems with Nvidia.

Thank you for the quick response!
The update seems to have completed successfully now, even though there were a lot of errors in the console  (too quick to copy them ^^', I only got this: Garuda's PrivateBin).
I’ll see if it remains stable

As to the rolling distro, I opted for that back then because I was annoyed at distros like Ubuntu because new updates (e.g. python versions) would take so long to be available, but I only use it as a dual boot setup for work when it is required.

I will try to follow the migration steps you linked, thanks for pointing that out!
