Switch from Gnome to KDE

Hi,

So I am currently using the Garuda gnome edition... However, I want to try out KDE...

Do I need to do a fresh install for the best results?

Or will it be possible to create a new user account and install the KDE de there?

Yes. Though it's possible to install multiple desktop environments, Garuda does not recommend it, and the forum does not give support to those who choose to do that.

No, it doesn't work that way, you would be able to choose a session when you log in to whichever user. But again, not recommended, and Gnome and KDE in particular have certain incompatibilities which may cause problems.

I recommend making a bootable usb with the edition you want to try and if it pleases you, install it alongside or replace it altogether. In fact, I am downloading Garuda Wayfire to try as we speak!
