Swapped monitor cables, changes now occur on different monitor

Hello again!

So i was wondering if swapping the monitor cables would help with some of my issues as i had read somewhere (long lost now), that this may be a fix for some of the KDE issues with main monitor. I wanted the arrangement to be consistent between my login screen and my desktop. I would log in, and my right monitor would act as though it were on the left and vice versa. Swapping them in the display settings on the desktop would not fix this at login. I think it did fix that.

HOWEVER

Now when i change settings for one monitor, it seems to apply to the other -- i see this in game with MangoHUD. The settings panel in KDE identifies each monitor correctly by name, but this afternoon i discovered that i was FPS capped in FFXIV at 60fps. I found it was the refresh rate setting in KDE, however, it was the other monitor set to 60Hz. First off, i have no idea why it suddenly changed. Second off, i have no idea why these settings aren't "port agnostic", or don't fix themselves at the time of swapping cables. It seems like a consistent issue based on what little googling I did to fix the initial problem that KDE multi monitor support is pretty shitty to begin with.

I know next to 0 about x11/xorg or display technology as it relates to desktop PCs at present. Is there a configuration file i can look in to make the monitor cable switch more permanent?

Both monitors are connected via display port.
