Stuck in 640x480 4:3 after hardware change/new computer

Yeah, I did and it was still stuck in 640 >_<

I did this earlier, it f up the system badly, I am so happy that snapshots are a thing without them oh boy…

Here is the output of this

ls /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

.rw-r--r-- 263 root 15 Jan 03:55  00-keyboard.conf
.rw-r--r-- 240 root 28 Apr 2024  30-touchpad.conf

And

ls /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/

.rw-r--r-- 126 root 31 Mar 2024  10-amdgpu.conf
.rw-r--r-- 1.1k root 15 Oct 2024  10-evdev.conf
.rw-r--r-- 1.7k root 17 Dec 2024  10-quirks.conf
.rw-r--r-- 92 root 31 Mar 2024  10-radeon.conf
.rw-r--r-- 1.4k root 15 Oct 2024  40-libinput.conf
.rw-r--r-- 3.5k root 15 Apr 2024  70-wacom.conf

Still stuck in 640x480p 4:3 and its stuck in it no other resolution to choose from…

It’s all clean, no nvidia residue.

Looks like the old monitor is the cause…
The only thing I can think of now is to test the old monitor with a DP->HDMI adapter on the HDMI port. The question is whether the monitor has implemented a HDMI 2.x specification, since it only has a DP port - the AMD GPU and the AMD drivers definitely support this.

Edit: Have you tried a different DP cable on the monitor?

I do not know where I have put my DP to HDMI cable, but I do have one.

Just tried with the brand new cable that came with my new monitor still stuck. Now my new monitor is stuck in its own limbo with HDR being super dark on the screen itself. It is stuck in 1024x768 4:3 DPv1.4.

Boot live.iso and verify.

Is the GPU properly seated in the slot?
The board has two PCI-E x16 slots, try the other slot.

Are the BIOS settings correct?
And see if there is a BIOS update.

If you have issues with both GPUs, both monitors, and the installed OS and live environment - then something is wrong with your new machine.
What kind of RAM is that and what power supply is installed?

Bios is fully updated.

Same thing

my 1080P monitor with 165Hz works just fine

I do not think its any of this at all, think its that my new monitor has gotten a smack in the mail and my old monitor is just very old.

I will either way see if I can’t get a new cooler for my other rig to give it more life and install windows to see, but I know there is a fault in the new monitor either way. Since the OSD menu goes all side ways and the menu looks glitchy out after doing so with the monitor being really dark.

Oh, now you have 3 monitors…and the third one works without any issues? And you couldn’t have said that earlier?

And you didn’t think it was necessary to mention that?

You neither have a garuda issue nor do you provide all the information needed to resolve your Problem.
From now on you are on your own. Good Luck.
