First of all, the best way to install steam is from multilib, that is simply by using
sudo pacman -Syu steam
command, and the steam should be installed. Assuming that you have used this way to install the steam, you can only install games from steam that can be run on Linux.
For example, CS2, Dota 2, Team Fortress 2 etc. You can find the list of steam games compatible with Linux here
So, if you are installing other games, it may have the given error. You can play only the games listed in above list on Steam using Linux.
(I know there might be other ways as well, but it is the official way)
