figured it out version 0.6.6-3 of rav1e was causing the issue downgrading back to 0.6.6-2 fixed it

Please mark your reply as a solution :white_check_mark: , and close this issue .

Not really a solution as it’s not a good idea to keep the package downgraded plus it doesn’t seem to be a packaging issue with arch as others have confirmed it doesn’t happen on vanilla Arch…

I disagree , it can happen from time to time , This is a post in reddit from someone encounter it in KDE neon distro (ubuntu based and maintained by KDE themselves).
I will advise you that don’t update your system every minute or hour , just try to keep it less update as much as possible (like every day or a while), Garuda and its repo trying to make it stable as much as they can , but it does not mean its like debian based .

I talked to arch people they said they have spectacle working with 0.6.6-3 of rav1e

(Even showed a screenshot of spectacle working with the latest rav1e installed)

I posted here and in the Garuda telegram in hopes of finding a Garuda user who can confirm or deny this issue also happens to them.

Arch users at least don’t have the issue.

It could be something specific to my system

I checked if the file exists and it does…

Restored from a snapshot before the update and re did the update. Fixes the issue so I guess something went wrong with the initial update.

I don’t think it was that a package update as I did try updating before restoring the backup…
