Remove BTRFS maintenance tools and spnaper please help

It’s the third time BTRFS maintenance tools breaks my pc in about 1 year, and my friend’s computer can’t even run Garuda for a day before the launcher breaks and nothing will open I think it happens because uneven power to SSD anyways here is my plan install Garuda Mokka then whill still in the USB delete BTRFS maintenance tools of freshly install OS before it even boots so what I need help on is what to delete and anything I need to do after bootup to fix any missing files errer messages that it will probably create

Maybe you can post more details and your garuda-inxi?
Which tool exactly you mean, Snapper-Tool, Btrfs-Assistant or Garuda-System-Maintenance?
Post also logs from the other PC too and the garuda-inxi.
First time I heard about this problem, sorry

I don’t have any of the problems you mentioned with BTRFS, Snaper, etc. but I have also considered removing BTRFS and Snaper things because I don’t use them. However I have not invested much time in it.
In my opinion, it is not possible to remove these tools due to systemic Garuda dependencies. Or you will be left with an almost normal rudimentary Archlinux.

How BTRFS tools can break your system? Those things just do system snapshots pre & post upgrades and provide possibility for cleanup of old snaps.

Past my 2 years using Garuda I never had my system broken due to these tools.

If KDE lite didn’t exist, I would test it :grinning:

Without your inxi …well
and without info about your btrfs settings ..well

I marked the irony of my comment with an emoji

@synergy It would be very helpful if you could explain yourself better and give a detailed description of the Problem. Otherwise this will turn into a question and answer game and a solution is very unlikely.
If English is not your native language, please use an online translator - and please use punctuation.
The problem with your friend’s computer obviously has nothing to do with your issue - so open a separate topic for that. ONE issue per topic
You have already been asked twice to post your garuda-inxi, and the topic template requires it.
Without sufficient information about your issue and without garuda-inxi this topic will be moved to 4xx Client Error > 412 Precondition Failed.

The same applies to your other topic btw:

Not running btrfs maintenance routines seems much more likely to break your system than running them.

Why do you believe your system was broken due to btrfs maintenance?

Thanks for trying to help guys I can’t give too much info as I can’t look at the log no app will open not even the terminal here is a pic of what happens if I try to launch anything had to take it with my phone screenshot app not working can’t even turn off PC lol I fixed the problem I used GParted made ext4 and force garuda to install on it

The error description and the error message on the pic indicate that tmpfs is full. In this case, simply open a console (or tty) and check with:

df -h

how much free space tmpfs has.

So your problem has nothing to do with BTRFS or Snapper.

lots sof free space
and yes BTRFS can corrupt an SSD and maybe you rite however this happened to my friends PC hours after a fresh install and if he runs an os whit ext4 no problems my question was never how to fix my error it was how to remove BTRFS

So far you have not provided a single proof, no logs, no terminal output and not even a garuda-inxi or anything else. The only thing you have provided is the pic with the error message. And that has nothing to do with BTRFS or Snapper. You are simply making assertions.

I already reinstalled and I could not open a terminal nothing would open and yes I am making assertions. But I don’t understand why on my friend’s PC gets that error only hours after a fresh install if he’s running a Linux that is using BTRFS

Maybe he does something wrong tinkering with it. Maybe he has bad hardware? I’ve ran btrfs on multiple machines for at least a year and other than shooting myself in the foot (metaphorically speaking), I’ve had no issues.

or via live.iso.

If your friend has issues with Garuda Linux, then open a new topic and add a detailed error description and the corresponding garuda-inxi. Then you will also get help here.

I close this thread, it is pointless without info like @nepti wrote.
