Can anyone tell me what’s the fault. About a month back I guess, I used the garuda-fix to move to the new nVidia drivers. I don’t really understand what’s going on, my guess is the old drivers are still there. Please advice on what should be done to remove the conflicts.

Thanks in advance

I can’t be too sure, but from what I’m seeing, you’re running a newer GPU which should support the latest drivers, not the v580 which is the last version supported on older models.

If you search through the forum, you’ll find countless others who’ve had similar issues, with the solution marked in the thread.

You could try re-installing the drivers, maybe that will clean it up.

sudo pacman -S nvidia-open-dkms nvidia-utils
sudo dracut-rebuild

Taken from Garuda stopped using Nvidia drivers after updating system (Solved) although the issue doesn’t exactly match.

Heya.

Sorry for the trouble. Seems like you have stumbled upon an older bug that has been fixed for a while but still seems to have its roots in your system, since you’ve used the NVIDIA 580xx driver in in the past and then switched to 590xx.

You can fix this and give a hint to pacman to accept the switch to the 590xx driver that your current hardware configuration is demanding by ignoring the updates to the 580xx driver temporarily until the end of this one update:

garuda-update -- --ignore lib32-nvidia-580xx-utils,lib32-opencl-nvidia-580xx,opencl-nvidia-580xx

Thank you so much. That seems to have fixed it.
