This clever person worked around the issue by running pacman with the debug flag to identify the URLs the package was pulling from, then used wget and curl on one of the URLs to get it to download without an error.

I got following error when I try to install gengetopt ;

sudo garuda-update
The file downloaded from the server was 1.9M vs 1.78M as stated from paru, pacman, and garuda-update. I think there is a problem on the chaotic aur side of things.

Yes, what I read made it sound like they need to fix something in the repository related to how the size of the package is recorded or identified. I honestly don't know much about that. Nice one getting it sorted in the meantime though.

Yes - this happens when the package file on disk doesn’t match the package metadata in the database. As to why that happens, no idea.
If you use pacman -Si rare-git it will show who packaged it, and then we can ping them.

Removed the package from the database for now. It will get rebuilt next build cycle and should be fixed at that point
