Random Blackscreen with Mouse Cursor at logon

Morning!

OK, so had Garuda Dr460nized Gaming installed for about a week and when it works, it works well. However, I'm noticing a few annoyances that I'd like to try and resolve that my Google-Fu has let me down on.

Most annoying is that sometimes, instead of my desktop opening (I have auto logon set) I just get a black screen with a larger mouse cursor and nothing else happens, press the hard reset button and everything will be fine again.

I'm working through journalctl -p 3 -b and this is what I see

Yes I called my PC spanky

So I know that hid-generic 0003:0D8C:0005.0001: No inputs registered, leaving is my Blue snowball mic.

OK, I figured out almost all of it. PC had a Soundblaster AE-9 still installed from it's Windoze days, I swapped its DAC out ages ago for a iFi Zen and 'forgot' the soundcard was still installed. Have removed that and the only thing I can see now is:

amd_gpio AMDI0030:00: Failed to translate GPIO pin 0x003D to IRQ, err -517

I know the GPIO is part of the motherboard chipset, anyone know what that means and if its good or bad?

You are missing your garuda-inxi . How.can helpers possibly identify if any error messages found online to apply to your hardware, when you haven’t provided your hardware specs.

You have now opened several technical help requests in the last few days without providing your system specs. This is unacceptable as you are only wasting forum assistants time without this information.

I will give you some hints on how to search your error message effectively:

If you search the error message in its entirety you will get no hits at all. This is because the alphanumeric strings in the error message pertain specifically to your hardware setup.

To get some useful hits progressively remove the alphanumeric strings from the error message to start getting search hits.

If you instead search for your error message with some of those strings removed you will start to get useful hits.

Suggested search string with modified terms:

"amd_gpio" Failed to translate GPIO pin to IRQ, err -517

I will leave you with this information to track down your own error message. Others should not have to do your searching for you.

In the future always provide a garuda-inxi on your Opening Post (OP) or your thread will be locked, as this thread is now.

My most sincere apologies, I responded to this thread on my cell phone while working outdoors. It was a sunny day today and even with my phones brightness turned up I had a hard time reading things.

I could have sworn the inxi was missing when I read the post. I was obviously mistaken and out of line, and I'm sorry the OP was subjected to my rudeness for no reason.

My vision is not great at the best of times with the sun in my eyes I definitely misread the original post.

Mea culpa.
