Hi,

I’M new on garuda, not in linux but it is the first time I see that kind of error, I build pretty often my own build for my router and always, I can use that formule to make , but not with garuda (fish)

james@james in ~
╰─λ make -i -j$(($(nproc)+1)) V=sc make
fish: command substitutions not allowed here
make -i -j$(($(nproc)+1)) V=sc make

do you know why?
thanks

Try

bash
make -i -j$(($(nproc)+1)) V=sc make
james@james in repo: master on  master [+?]
╰─λ bash
make -i -j$(($(nproc)+1)) V=sc Make
fish: command substitutions not allowed here
make -i -j$(($(nproc)+1)) V=sc make

maybe I just have to take another terminal?

Not a terminal problem, but the fact we use fish instead of bash as shell.
I’m not a fish karate kid :grinning: but maybe try

make -i -j (nproc + 1) V=sc make
