Please Help with the volume keys

Hello

i am having issues with my volume keys on my HP laptop the F 7 and F8 keys.

when i press volume up key the volume goes to 100% and when i click volume down key the audio mutes. please help me i am having a hard time.

I have to open settings every time i have to use audio things.
