I like garuda it’s been one of my favorites when i was distrohopping back in the pandemic, and since then i already knew that it had no preference for virtualization.
It’s been a great experience when using as a daily driver back then. But now im at a point where i really cant distrohop on my device, and i was kinda disappointed that after a few years it still hasnt have any good options for anyone who wants to run it as a Guest OS via Virtualization.
Is there really no options or plans for Virtualization for Garuda for the future?
I mean no ones saying you can’t run it like that though, either run kde lite, xfce, cinnamon or run a vm with gpu acceleration and for good measure turn off blur if it feels to slow. Just don’t really expect technical support for it. For hardware features or optimizations.
Or do things kinda the easy way get a cheap or a few cheap 128 gig SSD’s and put the distro or any distros on those while keeping you main drive what ever you wish
Mmmmh … no explanation why Garuda Linux has no preference for virtualization … no explanation of what is expected at all … no explanation of what good options this should be for a guest OS … no description of what actually should not work properly in a VM … no indication of what VM settings were tried … no information whether it is a potent host or the VM is running on a toaster.
Not a single piece of meaningful information - just a story.
btw: I have all Garuda spins running in a VM w/o any issues.
