Network Connection is not stable neither in Wired nor in Wifi

Hi,

I have installed the Garuda through a fresh iso. After install the Wired connection is not stable at all. Most of the time it shows 0 B/s only. I have a 40MBps speed.

Also, I am unable to connect through wifi.
The output of if config is as follows.

I have run the following commands as well. May be the output would be useful for debugging.

Thank you for all your detailed outputs. I'm currently not on my computer and it's very difficult to view log outputs on a cell. When I get back to my computer I will review your logs.

In the mean time could you please post:

Thank you, Garuda Team for such an active Support! I am Overwhelmed.

Welcome to Garuda.

Your wifi is not showing up in your output, please post:

rfkill list

lsmod | sort

sudo dmesg | grep -Ei "(error|fail|firm|regdom|cfg80211|alpha2|wmi|wl|80211|deauth|rtl*|r816*)" | grep -viE "(acpi|ras|nvidia|*faillock)"

hwinfo --netcard --bluetooth | grep -Ei "(speed|hotplug|model|status|cmd|file|detected|driver:)" | grep -v "Config S"

I would try installing and testing the linux-lts kernel just to be sure your wifi wasn't broken by a recent kernel update.

For the last command

grep: unrecognized option '--netcard'

That command might need to be modified for the fish shell, no matter.

I would try installing this driver for your Ethernet from the Chaotic AUR:

r8101-dkms

The command I gave before should work with bash, try this modified version:

bash -c 'hwinfo --netcard --bluetooth | grep -Ei "(speed|hotplug|model|status|cmd|file|detected|driver:)" | grep -v "Config S"'

I don’t think enabling this service will correct your problem. If you have enabled it and it made no difference , then I would disable it and restart.

Follow my previous suggestions regarding the LTS kernel and installing a different driver for your Ethernet. Also see if you can disable bluetooth in your bios. If not try turning BT off via your switch or function keys and reboot.

Try this:

su -c '/usr/bin/env bash -c echo "unloading network"; nmcli networking off; sleep 1; systemctl stop NetworkManager; sleep 2; echo "$(hwinfo --wlan | grep "Device File" | cut -d " " -f5)" > /tmp/device; $device="(cat /tmp/device)"; ip link set $device down; echo -e "\n--- unloading network ---\n"; sleep 3; lsmod | grep -o -e ^iwlmvm -e ^iwldvm -e ^iwlwifi | xargs sudo rmmod; sleep 3; echo -e "\n--- restarting network ---\n"; sleep 3; modprobe -v iwlwifi swcrypto=1 11n_disable=8; sleep 3; ip link set $device up; sleep 2; systemctl start NetworkManager; sleep 2; nmcli networking on; sleep 2; nmcli r wifi off; sleep 2; nmcli r wifi on; echo -e "\n--- process completed ---\n"'

Not sure if that will work with fish or zsh shells as I wrote that a long while back. Please post the output.
