My Device Doesn't Accept the Sudo Password

I’m using Garuda Linux, and after my device went into sleep mode, it stopped accepting my password upon waking up. No matter what I try, the issue persists. I looked through the forums and tried several suggested solutions from users with similar problems, but none worked.

The main issue is that even when I attempt to access the shell through GRUB before the password manager launches, I can’t get past the problematic screen—it boots directly into it. Neither the changes I made through TTY nor any other workaround had any effect.

I’m currently copying the disk to recover my files, but I thought it might be worth asking here. What would you recommend?

What stopped accepting your password? The lock screen? If so, what lock screen is in use? Or do you mean something else?

What did you try? What were the results of each of the efforts?

Can you be more specific about what you are describing here? What are you attempting to do with GRUB? What is the “password manager” in this case?

What is the problematic screen?

What are the changes you made in the TTY?

What are the other “workarounds”?

If you do not use a EN-US keyboard layout, try typing your password as if you do (in case your keyboard layout is not configured correctly).

Didn’t you just to be sure try to change the login shell?
