Login issue upon return from monitor sleep?

Fresh install a few days ago. Noticed that when my monitor goes to sleep, I get two issues:

  1. main monitor gets no signal. I have been able to work around it and fiddling with some settings (I think in the NVIDIA control app) I have been able to get the monitor to work again. I don't remember exactly what, but if needed, I can reproduce and document.

  2. upon auto-logout after system idle, when trying to log back in on the screen provided, my password does not work; if I select "Other user" option, I get a different login screen (the "normal" one) and I can enter my password and the session login will start (Dragon icon with spinning circle around it), but after a few seconds the system hangs/freezes and I have to manually shut down the system with the power button and restart.

Any ideas on what is going on? For now, I've set the monitor sleep to a large timeframe that I'll likely never have my computer on for....

I must say that I'm very impressed with this distro so far, thank you to the dev team for your efforts in making this distro "just work" and look great!
