that can be used maybe for testing and break the cpu to dead but then its the own fold if someone works on it without experiences and stupid how to or wrong AI chat haha.the changes are not permanent its gone after reboot?Edit: 3/7/2025: Clarified that microcode does not persist through reboots. Will it tell you also you broke the CPU if its damaged?

@Locutus It’s no different then specter and all the others. For normal people this is so irrelevant its not even news. But that’s any issue that is more then Norten Anti virus can deal with in a single click :stuck_out_tongue:

A little bit of an inside take rather than just random publishers. Thunderbird rep talking about Firefox

My stance is still don’t use baseline Firefox or baseline chrome but I digress.

HP not only kills printers with third-party cartridges, but also printers with original HP cartridges:

Funny bedtime story:

I’m sorry but this was probably a new scheme by them to block 3rd party cartridges. Too damn funny.

they got caught for this already back during there subscription printers brother just got caught to. at least for them if you keep it off line it wont die. but thats not a good thing either.

If I buy toner, this one, HP Laserjet 1100 (from last century  , 1999)

would work under Linux.

I do not need a printer, but if, I will never buy an ink printer. I lost years of my life and hair with Canon and Brother Scanner/Printer … .

No yellow ink, no scan, no black printing. No printer Software for M$ “upgrades”.

I loved my all-in-one Brother printer back in he day, until exactly that happened to me. Why on Earth can’t I scan a document when one of the ink tanks is empty?

They should of waited til Plasma 7 to make Wayland default. Might have fully matured by then.

Blame tracking laws for this: Printer tracking dots - Wikipedia

The pattern consists of a dot-matrix spread of yellow dots, which can barely be seen with the naked eye. The dots have a diameter of one-tenth millimetre (0.004 in) and a spacing of about one millimetre (0.04 in). Their arrangement encodes the serial number of the device, date and time of the printing, and is repeated several times across the printing area in case of errors.

Now I no longer wonder why it took so long to print half a page of text. It took so long to get the encryption in there, with the weak hardware of the time.
But not being able to scan is arbitrary.

Garuda Rani
Dark Reader [I use Dark Background and Light Text - it’s old, but it’s lightweight and works perfectly]

Make a backup before you do your updates that will make a backup. Then cross your fingers, toes, arms, and legs that the update goes as planned.
