Hi @Btd1p, it was discovered shortly after the new Garuda release that there was an issue with installing the LightDM display manager (I think there are three spins that use it). I'm not sure on the specifics but I believe there was a change in the Calamares installer that had something to do with it.

I'm under the impression it was fixed, although you will have to download a new version of the ISO. Hopefully someone will chime in with a known good ISO number you can try.

What is the version of the ISO you downloaded (full file name) and when did you download it?

Hi, Thanks for your reply i downloaded the ISO around 2 hours ago & its --- garuda-cinnamon-linux-zen-230305.iso ----- That would be great if someone would post a link to a Cinnamon version of a modified ISO with the fix?

I have the same issue with the same ISO - garuda-cinnamon-linux-zen-230305.iso

@Btd1p @avg-wee-peng there is a release candidate ISO which has been reported to resolve this issue if you would like to give it a shot: https://iso.builds.garudalinux.org/iso/garuda/cinnamon/230308/

Please note it is always possible for an ISO that is still in testing to have its own set of issues. If you run into any problems please speak up so someone can take a look.

Hi, I have tried this iso 230308 & it doesn't boot to the installer environment, I have attached a screenshot of the errors.

Hi @Btd1p, before you give up on that ISO can you give it another try? I don't think that error message is related to the ISO.

  • Make sure you verify the checksum of the ISO after you download it. Download the sha256 file, then run sha256sum /path/to/ISO and check the values match.
  • Try re-flashing again.
  • What flashing program are you using? Try using Ventoy, it is very reliable.
  • If none of that helps, try a different USB drive if you can.
