As the current maintainer of our MHWD implementation, I really do not see a reason to switch away from MHWD.
What is the difference between drivers installed via MHWD and some other hardware detection scripts? What would the advantage for the distro as a whole be?

I simply respond to the original post, that suggests a few issues with it. Since it hasn't been debunked or criticized, I assumed it might still be valid.
I just know that you talked through those points in DM on Telegram.
I dont know, what came out of these conversations, so I assumed its still a tricky question.
I personally have no concerns.
