So, last night I “garuda-updated” my PC, and I noticed Garuda core apps are updated. I also noticed nothing is displayed when I click on “Remove Orphans” icon under Garuda Assistant.

I guess all I can do is to let the Garuda team know through this post and wait ?

Does it at least pop-up for Admin password authentication?

EDIT: What does this show

paru -Qi garuda-assistant

Thanks for reply.

That’s the last version, yes.
The Remove Orphans button work for me, though.

Do not use it, in terminal use

cleanup

in assistant it is a little bit aggressive

but check

# Cleanup local orphaned packages
function cleanup
    while pacman -Qdtq
        sudo pacman -R (pacman -Qdtq)
    end
end

in config.fish

Thanks SGS,

“cleanup” worked and my config.fish is just like that in cleanup function.

never knew about that one. But the assistant worked for me also

Now I know what was happening…

The thing is, that the authentication dialog box opens up right behind the output window, so I didn’t see that until I moved the output window.

Is this a bug or that’s the way it is ?

Sometimes Plasma does that.
I think there is a setting in System Settings to always bring Administrative Windows up to focus on foreground.

EDIT: Try with this:

I just checked, and it has been like that all this time.

Try Medium or higher setting and see if it makes sense for day to day use.

Last resort, which now I remember is what I did, you can create a Window Rule:

Don’t copy what I have exactly, bring the window in focus, create a new rule and click the Detect Window Properties in System Settings to add properties for the window and test and retest until it works as you wish.

This setting here also make it a bit more clear to see it wont help it be on top but make it noticeable

Thanks elite,

It works as it should be now.
