I have just installed Garuda Dragonized on an old Intel Core 2 Quad system that used to be my Windows 7/10 system. Booting the system from USB ran fine and the install did not report any problems. The initial screen comes up and looks great. I can log in and all is fine. As soon as I start any graphical process, such as RANI, the system bogs down massively, the mouse stutters and jumps, and the keyboard respose is slow and often repeats a key multiple times.
I installed and started the ssh daemon and loging in from my other PC, a top command shows kwin_wayland using >300% CPU!
Since this is using an nvidia GTX 970, Iām guessing that there is a driver issue, however, I have not been able to figure out how to properly change the driver in use. Since this was just installed, if Iāve messed up the system attempting to follow instructions from various other nvidia posts, Iāll happily start over, but the issue has not changed with the attempts Iāve tried thus far to change the drivers.

I hope this isnāt something totally stupid that Iāve done. Iām much more familiar with Red Hat Enterprise and donāt normally have any interest in graphics/gaming. But Iām hoping to try to install & run a Windows ERP client under Linux as a way to replace a bunch of Windows 10 PCs that wonāt upgrade to Windows 11 but are othersize just fine for the office workers. If all goes well, Iāll also try to do some limited gaming on this machine here at home.
