When I click on a app in the dock or in the menu to open it just spins and goes away. Fortunately I have a terminal open on startup and apps open in terminal with no troubles. Any ideas?

Seems you need to reboot. Things can sometimes get a little funny when you mix-n-match what’s in memory with what’s new on the disk.

already done a couple reboots and no new updates

I am seeing this when i try to open a app in kde via dock Resource error (fork failure): Cannot allocate memory
