Installed MESA-TKG, how to revert to default MESA

Simple. I installed Mesa-TKG and didn’t see it was a devel branch. i wish to return to default mesa. I get dependency errors when it shoudl be managed automatically.

hi binarydepth,

can you use a snapshot before uninstalling?

Did you try to uninstall mesa and mesa-tkg seperatly and install mesa again ?

I don’t have a snapshot without the Mesa-Tkg. I was trying to swithc back and lost it. Aditionally, I am not able to restore to previous snapshot. On GRUB it shows until 88 and on snapper it show until 98 from 89

how you installed Mesa-TKG?

Why you installed it ? (again?)

i dont installed it but i have it like youre errors says too on the system.

Mesa-TKG means more patches for newer Hardware but it works like mesa too.

so what is your problem with any Apps or Games? Dont forget your garuda-inxi please.

Ok. If Mesa TKG from Chaotic is valid for everyday then I will leave it. I just noticed that it says devel so I fighured ti was for developers. But reverting should be done by package manager anyways.

@binarydepth :

mesa-tkg-git and lib32-mesa-tkg-git cannot be installed if vulkan-stuff is present and the vulkan-stuff cannot be installed if mesa-tkg is present. How did you manage that? :thinking:

You can try to remove the vulkan-stuff first (which might end up in dependency hell) and then install mesa and lib32-mesa.

Before you do that, try this first:

sudo pacman -S vulkan-radeon lib32-vulkan-radeon mesa lib32-mesa vulkan-intel lib32-vulkan-intel vulkan-mesa-layers lib32-vulkan-mesa-layers vulkan-swrast lib32-vulkan-swrast

It is possible that the whole thing fails because of vulkan-driver and lib32-vulkan-driver…these packages cannot be replaced or uninstalled individually, because they belong to steam.
