I just booted live to check wifi or sound working, as they weren't working in other distros too.

sir, I just want to check before moving to it.
the sound problem probably comes down to an incorrect output configuration. I assume it uses some headphone port, but not your speakers.
Try fiddling around with the KDE audio settings. If you can't get it to work, feel free to ask.
just noticed, sound is coming but its too low to be audible.
even after increasing to 150%, not audible, but audio starts breaking
