I live booted Garuda, EndeavourOS & Mint with Ventoy and they all had the same behaviour. Only notable difference was mint at least gave me a range of options under 60Hz instead of just having 60Hz.
I would like to think it has to do with the driver an the monitor it self you might have to make a xrandr setup to get it to work right in x11. though i havenāt done that in a long time.
always make sure to add a auto mode or have a usb with a live iso nearby if you need to remove the file if it wont work.
So it seems after consulting the BenQ website there are limits to this monitor where you can get 120 or even 144Hz(I didnāt remember it could even potentially do 144HZ but must have known when I nought it in 2021) which are specified in a special resolution file, not even in the user manual⦠https://esupportbenq.blob.core.windows.net/esupport/LCD%20MONITOR/UserManual/EX3203R/EX3203R_RF_EN_210104180503.pdf (Link looks questionable but it is the one from the BenQ website) This will be something watch out for when buying a replacement monitor in the future for sure!
Basically it seems that itās only certain colour modes that will allow for the higher refresh rates. Iām not bothered enough to go figuring all that out so Iām just gonna be happy with the 100Hz. Iāve followed the xrandr wiki to make the custom mode permanent.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
