I have python3.11 currently but I need python3.10 for unstable diffusion. Is there any way to have multiple versions of a package with pacman?

If you need a lower version of python for development or special purposes, install it into a pyenv or similar.

ok, i have a venv for the program already. do i just

pacman -S python3.10

in the venv?

?
You mean
Unstable Fusion, a Stable Diffusion version?
Can you offer the download link?
Did you ask the developer about?

yes I am currently asking people on their discord and we figured out that the issue is i have the wrong version of python. now i’m trying to figure out how to install python3.10 into a pyenv. I created a new issue for it so you could move to that one and close this i guess.

No, pacman is for installing system packages. Inside the venv, use python tools like pip to install into the venv.

you sure i can install python with pip? It says there are no matching distributions.

To install python itself, you can use pyenv

ok its installed. do you know how i can use it with a venv i already created?

this is how i created the venv

python -m venv venv --system-site-packages

and here is the link to the project: Install and Run on AMD GPUs · AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui Wiki · GitHub

Without trying to derail you, I can recommend asdf as “version manager” for programming languages.

It is universal, so you don’t have to learn a new syntax/API for every other language.

Just a small advice ,
You can use dockers and put whatever you want there :slightly_smiling_face:
