im unsure of how to get nvidia on here

good…
Now make a system update.
This happens automatically if you install additional ones or if you don’t install anything else.
If you have closed this gui.
Open konsole: command garuda-update -a …that takes a while → reboot → and sorry once again garuda-inxi.

this comes after the system update.

For this gpu you need the nvidia-open-dkms + 32 bit
sudo pacman -S nvidia-open-dkms egl-wayland lib32-nvidia-utils lib32-opencl-nvidia nvidia-settings opencl-nvidia nvidia-utils (pls with all opt. dependence)
And perhaps nvidia-prime to use the dgpu (nvidia) for games or deactivate your igpu ( intel) inside bios, but result higher energy consumption.

how do i go about installig nvidia-open-dkms

edit: i figured it out with chatgpt

open konsole:
sudo pacman -S nvidia-open-dkms egl-wayland lib32-nvidia-utils lib32-opencl-nvidia nvidia-settings opencl-nvidia nvidia-utils
but before pls make system update.

Not so a good idea… here you stay on a arch based distro ..use your preferred search engine or ask here inside forum and sorry, you have a little bit to learn. Use the Arch wiki in addition

example: Nvidia

it gives an error with nvidia-smi

NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA
driver is installed and running.

I don´t know what you have done, sorry
I see no new garuda-inxi with the current kernel. (only example)
Think on it, after each install from relevant system stuff (kernel, driver, etc) reboot.
Without, the system can´t use this.

Think on right settings after bios update + fastboot off inside M$ and never a warm boot
M$ to Linux. Reverse yes.

Possibly because nvidia-prime is missing (which you need for your hybrid graphics system). Install the package with:

sudo pacman -S nvidia-prime

and reboot afterwards. Then check again with:

nvidia-smi
