I had one rather esoteric game – Beavis and Butt-Head Bunghole in one.
It ran nicely under Win98 wine emulation with 32 bit wine prefix.
Lately system update updated wine to newer W0W64 mode support and removed 32 bit winearch option. This particualr game is VERY picky about windows version. It ran only under Windows 98 (and Me). Nor under older, nor under newer Windowses.
Of course after creating new wineprefix (32 bit no longer supported) and reconfiguring the game immediately crashes under wine.
So how I can get good old pure win32 mode back?
Hello
I dont know if you play others Games needed 64Bit but you can try this in the Terminal. It will ask you to remove wine-wow64 accept it and you should be back on wine. You also can check wine version in terminal with ¬ wine --version ¬
sudo pacman -S wine
You also can try other Games Launcher to run the Game. Heroic , Lutris Application or Retroarch we dont know how you have it installed.
Also please post your Garuda-inxi output we dont know which Garuda your using like KDE Gnome or others.
You find more 32 bit stuff in the aur source. Open Octopi or use pacseek as info.
To install over paru -S packagename.
I would look here Wine - ArchWiki looks like you need to set it like
WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/win32 winecfg
in wine that 64bit only.
I bet you need AUR (en) - wine32 to make things start working the old way like you want. But I cant say for sure as I’ve not messed with it personally.
I have wine-wow64 installed from AUR already because my other Games. Also i have installed ¬ wine-mono¬| ¬wine-gecko¬| ¬wine 10.12¬ and ¬winetricks¬. I have the Game also as Disk. I did installed it with Heroic Game Launcher and it worked . Just the screen is small but i think i can change it with winecfg option.
This is probably The Way. I try latest-und-greatest aur wine. Thanks for the tip.

A garuda-inxi output is a requirement for receiving assistance on the Garuda forum, so please be sure to comply with our forum’s rules.
hi
ok i will not support anymore if no inxi is posted if you mean it.
Unfortunately, on technical support threads it pretty much needs to be a hard and fast rule. Otherwise most new users repeatedly ignore assistants requests to post their system specs. There needs to be consistancy in the rule’s enforcement or it will be constantly ignored. This thread, may not benefit from including the system specs, but they were requested. Monkey see, monkey do, if users see others ignoring garuda-inxi requests then they all begin to figure why should I bother to post my specs?
Any posts that are not requests for assistance, obviously do not require that system specs be included.
I cant write you a message. I just thought people dont like to share their Systems specs. May they feared , it could be have sensitive data ! So maybe change it in the Template to the TOP and written no sensitive data information is included. Just my thinkings. Im not hte only one who answering without inxis btw but i will follow the rule.
It does not contain any data that would be worth protecting.
We have mentioned it again and again for years.
Many would rather give their sensitive private data to Meta, Google, M$ or anyone else (because they have nothing to hide) than give us their harmless hardware specifications.
But when they need help, they become pushy data protectionists
which they would be better off elsewhere
.
We have tried everything and found that no matter what we write in the template, the masses don’t read it at all.
It’s a never ending story ![]()
Much appreciated, and thank you for so freely volunteering your time to assist other users. You have been helping a lot of users of late, keep up the good work. ![]()
Cheers. ![]()
As far as I know, there is no rule prohibiting you from offering help even if no inxi has been posted. However, it does undermine the obligation to post it if help is requested.
When I first joined the forum, I also thought, “What’s the point? Why should I do that?” Are they crazy? Especially this @SGS, who constantly comes along with his standard phrase about this fu*** garuda-inxi
![]()
However, if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. It saves those who sacrifice their time to help others a lot of questions and valuable time. At the same time, it saves questioners a lot of time and answers and people who are looking for solutions don´t need wading through long question-and-answer threads.
It may sound harsh, but respect for the helpers dictates that no help should be given without inxi. Even if it’s hard to be superficially an asshole not to write anything.
I need the raw sgs inxi template
. I’ll post it every time.
