Why do you need to do that?
Chaotic-aur should be already configured in our systems.

thank you for saying that I was just following the steps in the WIKI
why do they still have these steps in the WIKI ?

Navigate to 'etc/' in Dolphin, then right click an empty space and click "open in terminal". Then type 'sudo nano pacman.conf' and it should open up the file that you need to edit.
Then you will add the below to the bottom of that file (assuming you don't have any addition third party repositories).

Ctrl+X to save and exit the file then you can do 'pacman -Su' to update the mirrorlist or just use 'garuda-update'. Sorry, on mobile otherwise I'd use better screenshots.

Because chaotic-aur can be used also in other distros.

Yes it should already be in there. I assumed you accidentally removed it.

@jpierce.coder

Thanks Bud but no
I got this Part

its the other part

It Doesn't matter any more but only if u guys knew how much i suffered from these steps before :frowning:

Why did you suffer? Chaotic is enabled by default on every Garuda distro, so you shouldn't have had to struggle at all since they were already there...

micro, Garuda use micro :wink:

pacman supports parallel downloads natively now, no need for powerpill.

Maybe someone can change the text on the chaotic web page (@dr460nf1r3 , @Technetium , @Naman (Web designer)) ?

Oops, my bad! My roots came from debian based, so I used nano for years. Will remember for future responses. :sweat_smile:

I Like nano :+1:

Prefer Nano.

Wait, really? I've never used Micro, and Nano seems to be the default for some things :thinking:

I've only ever used Nano and Vim in the console, lol

Nano is fine, I use it a long time.
Micro is even easier to use and probably included in all Garuda DE's except Xfce?
Why would you want to do Vi(M) for a small change in the / area.
But all have their justification in different areas.

You could extend the elitist Arch saying :slight_smile:

By the way, I use Arch and Vim! :wink:

Because we are already off topic here,
Sending text as an image is counterproductive (not copyable or searchable) and unnecessarily increases the memory, traffic and backups of the forum.

Even more comfortable would be here, open in terminal

sudo micro /etc/pacman.conf

add

[chaotic-aur]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/chaotic-mirrorlist
But life is not a wish concert :smiley:

On the other hand, we don't want to raise any helper vampires by spoonfeeding them.

@Firas now I finally understand why I keep seeing this output in your inxi!

error: could not register 'chaotic-aur' database (database already registered)
