Hardware Acceleration not working

So, first minecraft and blender were laggy for some reason but wine/proton games were fine. So I looked around for why and saw llvmpipe being used for my Graphics Processor and OpenGL. So I started researching and found a small guide that I thought would’ve fixed it that involved editing “/etc/environment” by putting:

QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME="wayland;xcb"
GBM_BACKEND=nvidia-drm
__GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1
LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nvidia

(on X11 honestly didn’t notice the wayland, tho switching to wayland did nothing)

but once rebooting, the desktop background became black and system monitor is saying Hardware Acceleration is off. It’s still recognizing my Nvidia GPU but not using it I guess? Even undoing and going back to any snapshot does not work and the problem persists. I’ve reinstalled dkms, nvidia-dkms, tried new kernals, completely uninstalling all GPU drivers and reinstalling but nothing.

I’ve been searching but I can’t find anything that works for me and I’m at a loss once again. Just hoping I didn’t brick my linux with this.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

Another thing I found out that may help troubleshoot, my steam games still function more or less normal with all this happening. Hope it helps.

The problem has been fixed, something just appeared randomly in the taskbar (couldn’t catch the name) but it let me change a setting from “software” to “automatic” and now everythings back, graphics processor is still llvmpipe but I’ll figure that out another time.
